LEE Chi Wo Daniel
Lee Chi Wo Daniel, born in Hong Kong and grew up in Yuen Long, has been active and loves sports since childhood. His father, a primary school physical education teacher, believes that exercise is good for the body and mind, and encouraged him to train in swimming since he was a child. Later, he was introduced by friends to participate in the short-distance triathlon competition, and he was invited to join the Hong Kong team. Since 1993, he competed in the Asian Triathlon Championship, he won the Junior Asian Champion and was the 1st and 2nd runner up.
After triathlon first became an Olympic sport in 2000, he became the first Chinese to compete in an Olympic triathlon in 2004. During his athletic career, he represented Hong Kong in two Olympic Games, two Asian Games and two China National Games.
After finishing his full-time athlete career in 2010, he returned to his alma mater, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, as a lecturer in the Department of Sports Science and Physical Education, training physical education teachers and sports-related practitioners in Hong Kong. In 2019, he completed his Doctor of Philosophy. In the same year, he returned to the Hong Kong Sports Institute to serve as the Associate Director of Elite Training Science and Technology Division. He is committed to providing comprehensive sports science and sports medicine support for elite athletes in Hong Kong, nurturing them and develop their full potential to pursue excellence and strive for success in the international sports arena.
李致和生於香港,在元朗長大,自小好動和熱愛運動。父親為小學體育教師,深信運動有益身心,從小便讓他習泳。後來從朋友介紹參加了短途三項鐵人比賽,便即獲邀加入香港代表隊,於1993年首次參與亞洲三項鐵人錦標賽,先後獲得青年組冠軍和精英組亞軍和季軍。當三項鐵人運動於2000年首次成為奧運項目後,他於2004年成為首位華人參加奧運三項鐵人比賽。他運動員生涯曾代表香港出戰兩屆奧運會、兩屆亞運會和兩屆全運會。
2010年結束全職運動員生涯後,他返回母校香港中文大學的體育運動科系任職講師,培訓香港的體育教師及運動相關從業人員。在2019年,他完成哲學博士學位,同年返回香港體育學院任職精英訓練科技助理總監,致力為香港精英運動員提供全面的運動科學和運動醫學支援,協助他們發揮潛能、追求卓越,並在國際體壇爭取佳績。
