

Sarinder Singh Dillon

Sarinder Singh Dillon
Born in Hong Kong of Punjabi heritage, Sarinder Dillon is an avid hockey enthusiast whose infatuation with the sport of hockey spans over half a century.
He embarked on this exciting journey starting as a player representing Hong Kong in the Tokyo Olympic Games 1964 at the age of 17 years. He also enjoyed a unique honour to have represented Hong Kong in the 1966, 1970, and 1978 Asian Games, then later went on to coach the Hong Kong Men’s Hockey team in the Asian Games 1982.
In later years, Sarinder was appointed to officiate as a Technical Official in numerous Games/Tournaments, notably

Judge: Olympic Games Men’s Qualifier, Japan 2008
Tournament Director: Men’s Hockey World Cup Qualifier, Invercargill, NZ 2009

He served as Hon. Secretary of the Hong Kong Hockey Association from 1985 to 2006, for a span of 21 years, before serving as its President for 16 years from 2006 to 2022.
Sarinder was appointed an Advisor to the Asian Hockey Federation Executive Board in 2020, where he also chairs the AHF Masters Hockey Committee.
As an avid sportsman, Sarinder was very active in squash representing his club, Nav Bharat Club in the Hong Kong Squash Association first division league during the 1970s-80s. His success in squash include being crowned Hong Kong Open Plate Champion in 1973.
